When meeting him on his field in [[Ultima VII]], Brownie mentioned that he'd tried to become the mayor of Britain, but now he was only a farmer. Brownie spoke a little about his job, offering the Avatar a job since he'd recieved an injury. He offered gold for carrying his pumpkins to him. Brownie also mentioned [[Mack]], another farmer he liked but thought of as a little strange.

Asked about his run for being the mayor, Brownie spoke about how the mayor [[Patterson]] had won the elections by literally throwing around money to buy votes. He'd run for the post because he felt that [[Britannia]] became more unfair of a land with each year, gravely disliking the class system. Brownie told the Avatar that Patterson also won because the [[Fellowship]] supported him and ordered their memebers to vote for him. This was something else that angered Brownie and he clearly saw how the Fellowship seemed to see all non-members as their enemies.

Brownie added that he could have won by revealing a dirty secret of Patterson, but he'd never step so low as it would've hurt someone else as well. Brownie didn't revel the secret but hinted to follow Patterson at night. The Avatar did so and discovered Patterson's affair with [[Candice]].

After Patterson's death in [[Ultima Underworld II]], it is possible that Brownie could have become the new mayor.

The game, however, was only released in Japan, so no English version of it exists at all.

The reason for why [[Origin]] made this decision is unknown. The port came rather late, compared to when the original came out, in 1997. Since the gaming hardware had made huge steps since then, it was decided to make changes to the game engine so that the game would be acceptable for gamers of the time.

Of course the fact that a gamepad can't replace a combination of mouse and keyboard complicated the control scheme. Also, that fatal inventory bug, which made items disappear and was fixed in the CD-version of the original game, was again present. It is impossible to imagine how this had happened.

Since the game is in Japanese, it is impossible to find out, if story differences exist.

In [[Ultima VII]], [[Nanna]] explained that Nicholas was another charty case, beside [[Kristy]], that had come into the care of the state. Nicholas as a typical child hadn't much meaning dialogue. However, he did wet of diapers where the Avatar talked to him, much to the party's disgust.

In [[Ultima VII]], [[Nanna]] corrected Max' name, since he spelled it "Maggs". Max was a typical child and didn't have much of importance to say in conversion, only revealing that he loved to listen to the stories of [[Sherry the Mouse]].
