Ultima VII Part Two

Andral was a knight and sculptor of Monitor, a city on the Serpent Isle in Ultima VII Part Two.

A member of the Leopard Command, Andral admitted he was not much of a warrior. Though he passed the Test of Knighthood, he never fought much, nor sought any glory on the battlefield. He was an artist and saw it as a waste of time to partake in petty duels or training exercises on the List Field. He was tolerated in Monitor because of the services he provided: both as a sculptor of stone (including statues of any knight who requested it, such as Luther) as well as the maker of the urns used in cremating the remains of dead knights. Though Andral made his living in part by fashioning statues of knights, he personally felt the knights own deeds should serve as a testament to the knight's abilities and character. Though he openly admitted he had no friends, he was for a time involved with Lucilla, the barkeep of the Slashing Sword pub, whom he considered an artist much like himself. Lucilla later admitted that she left Andral because he was too obsessed with his work.

Andral met the sage Batlin and his companions when they came through Monitor. The sculptor was impressed by Batlin's lackey, Brunt, and would have loved to have had him as a model. Batlin, however, was more interested in a relic of Andral's that had been in his family for generations: a serpent carved from blackrock. Not long after Batlin was made to leave Monitor by Lord Marsten, Andral realized the relic was missing. He immediately (and correctly) guessed that Batlin had stolen it.

Like most of the citizens of Monitor, Andral was killed when the Bane of Wantonness (possessing the body of Dupre) conquered the city at the head of a massive army of Goblins.
