Freli, from Ultima VII Part Two
Species: Human
Appearances
Ultima VII Part Two
Location: Moonshade

Freli is the son of Delin of Fawn, and the brother of Alyssand. Brought to Moonshade at an early age by Fedabiblio, the Magister of the city. He studies magic at the Seminarium.

Freli was the second child of Delin by his wife Elissa, a mundane from Moonshade who emigrated to Fawn. Elissa died shortly after giving birth to Freli, leaving Delin grief-stricken. His sorrows were compounded when Fedabiblio took Freli away, as he claimed the boy closely resembled his mother.

Freli proved excitable when the Avatar met him in Ultima VII Part Two, and expressed a desire to hear stories of adventure to brighten the monotony of his study. He spoke with interest about Batlin's visit to the city and his dealings with Torrissio, and also spoke about Erstam and Filbercio in passing.

Freli asked the Avatar to deliver a letter to his father in Fawn, in which he related that he missed his family dearly in spite of his attachment to his studies, and extended an invitation for them to visit. If the Avatar delivered the letter successfully to Delin, the old man would give him a discount on all of the goods in his shop out of gratitude.

Later, when Shamino the Anarch overtook Moonshade, Freli was one of the few survivors, along with his fellow student and friend Andrio.

Trivia[]

  • According to the original design documents for Serpent Isle, Freli, not Shamino the Anarch, was responsible for Fedabiblio's petrification, due to some manner of childish prank. Freli was also to give the Avatar a quest to rescue Andrio, who had accidentally swarmed the Seminarium with headless.[1]
