Gulik is a human Outcast living on the first level of the Abyss.
The Avatar found him in Ultima Underworld I inside the outcast encampment that Bragit had pointed out. Gulik was also called "the blessed" because he's considered lucky to not have the scruples to eat cockroaches, thus never getting hungry.
He felt being in the Abyss was worse than hanging, and cursed Sir Cabirus as an idealistic fool who'd only escaped his punishment by an early death. Gulik himself admitted that he was here because of murder. He said to speak with their leader Hagbard for more information. Returning after meeting the man, Gulik advised the Avatar that barter was different for the groups in the Abyss. Mountain-Folk love gold, while Goblins have no use for it.
He was later rescued by Garamon when the volcano erupted.
