Malas
Malas is a world added to Ultima Online in the fifth expansion pack Ultima Online: Age of Shadows, representing another facet of the splintered Sosaria. Malas was originally introduced to the game on February 28, 2003.
Malas is unlike other worlds in that it actually floats in the Ethereal Void in which players cannot walk, and oceans are nowhere to be seen, thus leaving boats useless for accessing landmasses in this facet.
Its landscape mainly consists of green grass and forests, featuring snowy fields in its northernmost regions, a somewhat big lake in its southern landmass, unique forests made of crystals known as "Crystal Fens," a giant desert named "Dry Highlands," and a dead-looking forested area called "Corrupted Forest" near one of its two cities.
The landmass is split into three distinct parts. The northern mass, with the city of Luna, is controlled by the Paladins, the southern mass, with the city of Umbra, is controlled by the Necromancers, and the crumbling continent lies between them. Both cities are connected by bridges and are the only two present in this facet.
Malas also offers new dungeons and additional land for player housing.
