Matt is the deaf cook at the Blue Boar tavern in Ultima VI.
Matt was the loving husband of Anya and the father of Ariana. He was the victim of an unfortunate accident during his youth that left him deaf and dumb. Despite his inability to hear, his daughter ironically became an accomplished bard. His wife constantly lamented his inability to hear his daughter's music. Despite Matt being able to communicate by sign language, the Avatar was unable to talk to him.
