Toran is the jeweler of Tenebrae on Pagan, husband of Rhian and father of Torwin.
Torwin was a man that never hid his true opinion. However, that kind of honesty wasn't a good thing during Mordea's tyrannic regime in the city. So after speaking against Mordea, he was arrested and sentenced to death by beheading. The Avatar witnessed the execution right at the beginning of Ultima VIII. Toran was sure that Lithos would be proud of him, but Mordea revealed that they would throw his body into the sea. Then he was executed, his head eaten by a minion of the Lurker.
His son soon followed him to a watery grave, leaving Rhian totally devastated.
