Geoffrey

Geoffrey is based in real-life on Jeff Hillhouse, the first outside-employee of Origin in 1983.
He is a native of Earth, and friend of Lord British. in Britannia Geoffrey is a Fighter, and made his home in the island town of Jhelom. In Ultima IV he gladly joined the future Avatar in his/her quest to find the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom.
He was declared an outlaw in Ultima V, and therefore he had to flee from Jhelom to Buccaneer's Den for safety. It was there, where to Avatar found him, and he joined into the quest to restore Lord British to power and topple the dictatorship of Blackthorn.
After these events, Geoffrey became the personal bodyguard of Lord British, and the captain of the knights of Britain. In Ultima VI, he had sent warriors to free the Shrine of Compassion from the Gargoyles, but they had failed. He himself had the command over the castle guards and unable to join the Avatar's party. He also was still Lord British's bodyguard and captain of the guard in Ultima VII, where he told the Avatar, that he became to old for adventures.
This lethargy was ended in Ultima Underworld II. After having lost a duel against the female Jhelom fighter Master Syria while trapped in the castle, Geoffrey admitted that he wasn't as good as he once was, and vowed to become better, to protect his king from the dangers yet to come.
In Ultima IX, he is found in Jhelom, after freed from the column in Destard.

- Geoffrey is known as the companion with the least things to say (extreme in Ultima IX and VI).
- Together with Mariah he is also the companion who joins the least times (2 times to be exact).
