Humility is one of the Eight Virtues.
Humility, which is independent of the principles, is perceiving one's place in the world, not according to one's own accomplishments, but according to the intrinsic value of all individuals. It is the recognition of the worthiness of all beings, and the perception of one's own place among them, regardless of one's own personal accomplishments or mistakes in the world. New Magincia is a towne built on the ruins of old Magincia by a colony of humble people who understand well the dangers of false, self-serving pride and the beauty of humility.
The Shrine of Humility is situated on the Isle of the Avatar.

[edit] Interesting facts
- Humility is difficult to understand without knowing that it is the opposite of its anti-virtue, Pride.
- There was an interesting test in Ultima VI, where the Avatar had to find the most humble inhabitant of New Magincia to get the Rune of Humility. Everyone is humble in their own way, but the most humble is actually Conor, who of course says that he isn't the most humble person on the island.

During Blackthorn's tyranny, Humility was turned into a law: "Thou shalt humble thyself to thy superiors, or thou shalt suffer their wrath."
