Jack Segal, from Martian Dreams
A slick-looking gentleman with shifty eyes, Segal was friendly towards the Avatar, but gave the hero a distinct impression of insincere martyrdom. Considering himself the caretaker of all the people in Olympus, he had a high level of distrust towards anyone who had used the martian Dream Machines, having disabled the device they discovered in their own settlement. Referring to himself and the Avatar as "men of education," he tried to dissuade the hero from unnecessarily endangering himself or the colony. He also told the Avatar where to find Hellas and "Crazy Marcus," whom he had expelled from Olympus once he had deemed him insane.
Once the Avatar had done some investigating, he returned to Segal, who was convinced the hero had to face down Rasputin (Raxachk) in order to retrieve the supply of phlogistonite he'd stolen, so that the humans could leave the red planet.
- Segal is clearly another attempt at inserting the Seggallion character into the Ultima series, although he is clearly not the same person.
