Jared is a beggar child in Paws in Ultima IX.

With no mother or father to help him, Jared was forced to steal just to feed himself. He was exiled to Paws after getting caught stealing radishes from Farmer Bob in Britain. When the Avatar met him in Paws, he was so upset that all he could do was lament the harshness of his life.

After the Shrine of Compassion was cleansed, he got a job working for Farmer Bob, who paid him with a good meal every day and a place to sleep in the evenings.
