Kessler is the owner of the Apothecary in Britain at the time of the Black Gate. He is a humble and honest man, doing his work as best as he can
The Avatar met Kessler in Ultima VII, while staying in Britain. Kessler offered the usual services of his shop, selling Potions. He also revealed to the Avatar that he was working for the government of Britannia to research the potential dangers of the drug Silver Serpent Venom. He had been also tasked to buy any venom for research reasons and to remove it from circulation. He offered the Avatar to buy all venom vials brought to him.
