Lady Tory, from Ultima Underworld II
Lady Tory is a very special woman. She is a Druid with empathic powers, who can feel and react on the feelings of the people around her. This is why she works as a counselor in Serpent's Hold. She has one son, Riky.
She had been heartbroken when she met the Avatar in Ultima VII. Her son had been abducted by harpies, and she feared to never see him again. The Avatar killed the Harpies at the Shrine of Honor, and returned Riky to Lady Tory, who was eternally grateful for this rescue.
Free of her burden, she gave the Avatar some spiritual advice, while explaining that she tried to help Denton with his humor. She also knew a lot of Sir Horffe's background and was concerned with the strange changes in Sir Richter and Jordan, which concerned her. She also helped with solving the mystery of a vandalized statue of Lord British, after the Avatar had revealed Sir Horffe's struggle with the vandal, by mentioning that Jordan seemed to be strangely nervous.
One year later, she too was a guest at the festival in Castle Britannia, and therefore imprisoned by the Blackrock Dome in Ultima Underworld II. She helped the Avatar by giving a good picture of how the people in the castle fared emotionally, gauging the morale. But she was puzzled by some strange things going on, which she felt with her empathic abilities. When she realized that it was mayor Patterson who was a traitor, she was murdered by him in cold blood.
She left behind her son, now an orphan.
- It is of course obvious that Lady Tory is made to resemble Deanna Troi from Star Trek: The Next Generation with her empathic abilities.
- In Ultima Underworld II, she teaches Charisma.
