In Ultima VII Part Two, Pendar was a Monitorian Knight who organized raids or Quests of Courage into the woods or into Furnace. Standarr was his friend and was worried because he had yet to return from his latest quest to Furnace. Lord Zhelkas mentions "Men in Armour" that come to Furnace to steal its wealth and harm the gargoyles.

The fate of Pendar is unknown and the book and scroll attributed to him appear in the game's usecode only. According to Pendar's book entitled "My Diary", Pendar spent several days recruiting men to march into Furnace to attack the gargoyles. By the eleventh day of the campaign, he and his troops had made it as far as the bath house in Furnace, where he lost two men to the Tentacles in the main pool. By the fifth week of the campaign, he was preparing to fight a decisive battle against the gargoyles. The outcome of the battle is unknown but likely cost Pendar his life.

The scroll attributed to Pendar gives mention to his accumulation of a "considerable treasure" and a "fair measure of wealth". He left this treasure to his "good fellow knights" - many of whom he owed his life.

There are many dead pikemen (and women) in Furnace. The Avatar also comes across two fighters and a guardsman in Furnace that attack him in their desperation for water. It is likely that these men were all that was left of Pendar's troops.
