Runes of Virtue II

From Editable Codex

Game Box Art- Game Boy
Title Screen (SNES)
The Wilderness (GameBoy)
A Dark Cave

Ultima: Runes of Virtue II was developed by Origin and published by FCI for the Nintendo GameBoy in 1993. A port for the SNES followed in 1994.

Like its predecessor, Runes of Virtue, this is actually mostly an action game, with only very thin relations to the main series. The only thing worthy of note is, that the game is again capable of multi-player.

Contents

[edit] Included with the game

The GameBoy version only comes with an instruction manual, and nothing else in the box. The SNES port additionally has a paper map of Britannia

[edit] Differences between the ports

Besides the original GameBoy port, there also exists a port for the SNES.

The SNES port plays the same, but of course has much better graphics and sound. Other than that, there are no differences between the ports.

[edit] The Story

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

There is a little more story in the game than last time (but still not much).

The enemy is again the moronic Black Knight, who has kidnapped the mayors of the eight cities of Virtue of Britannia. It is up to the player to free them and kill the Black Knight once and for all. That's it with the story.

Spoilers end here.
