Sindar, from Ultima V: Lazarus
Unlike other members of the council, Sindar didn't go into hiding, but instead he put himself into a magical sleep that would make it impossible for his enemies to get information out of him. It seemed that by Ultima V, the Oppression had given up on trying to wake him up and thus left him in peace.
The Avatar however was presented with the unique problem of how to get the word of power with Sindar sleeping. Listening around, some gossip about a strange sleepwalker pacing the city walls at night turned up. So waiting until midnight, the Avatar indeed saw Sindar sleepwalking around. In this state, it was possible to talk to him, and he revealed the Word of Power for the dungeon Shame.
- Sindar's character was strangely changed on the NES. Instead of a sleepwalking mage, he now was a glutton of a guard who freely gave the word while eating without interruption.
