Pentology

The Ultima VIII Clue Book: Pentology is 96 pages long and contains 3D game maps, two walkthroughs, and game statistics for Ultima VIII. It originally retailed for USD$14.95 and was published in 1994. It was written by Melissa Mead.

This was the first hintbook to display an Electronic Arts product code.

The book does not use the narrative style employed by the Ultima VI, Ultima VII, and Ultima VII Part Two clue books; although, it does contain narrated sections by Remvatos, The Observer, who claims to be the son of Apathas, the God of Balance on Pagan. Unlike previous clue books, it offers no unique artwork.
